Chuddy K Dropped From ‘Next Rated’ Category In Headies Awards
‘Go Gaga’ singer Chuddy K has been dropped from the nominees list for the ‘Next Rated’ category of the 2012 Headies Awards. He was replaced by upcoming rapper Flowssick. Others in this category include Davido, Eva Alordiah, and Praiz.
This happened shortly after organizers released the nominees list for the 2012 edition of the awards.
According to the headies management, the reason the singer was dropped was that he released a debut album ‘I am Me’ in 2010. Next Rated nominees must be unreleased artistes as at nomination period.
According to thenetng.com, ‘Evidence has emerged that Chuddy K previously released an album titled “I Am Me” in 2010 and therefore will not be listed in the Next Rated category’, the statement released by the awards organizers said.
Though Chuddy K is still nominated in three other catergories – ‘Song of the Year’, ‘Best pop single’ and ‘Best street Hop’, you have to wonder why this decision was taken. Davido also recently released an album ‘O.B.O’ and is still in this category. What do the organizers have to say to that? Or will Davido also be taken out of the category too???
