Big Brother Stargame: Goldie flirts with fellow housemate

It’s just six days after the Big Brother StarGame kicked off and Nigeria’s celebrity rep Goldie is already getting ‘cosy’ with another housemate.
Yesterday the singer and her Kenyan counterpart Prezzo snuggled up on the couch as the latter in an informal chat, romantically called Goldie his ‘Heaven sent’ and ‘African queen’. All Goldie could do was blush and beam with smiles.
Goldie is now popular in the ‘UpVille’ house after her recent outburst at Roki who she says wasn’t treating her fair enough.

VIDEO: Sex in the Big Brother Stargame house

Jessica and Luke
14 days after the reality show kicked off , this year’s first sexual encounter at the Big Brother Stargame has taken place, courtesy of to Namibian housemate Jessica and her Liberian counterpart Luke.
The ‘bonking affair’ happened on Sunday, May 16, 2012 hours before Luke got the boot out of the house along with his Liberian partner Yadel and Sierra Leonean Dalphin.
While everyone was sleeping, Luke and Jessica hopped into bed. Luke began giving Jessica a very sensual massage and shortly after the two hit it off. They must have thought no one would see them as the lights were off but trust Biggie to have his infra-red cameras on stand-by!
Check out some stills from the video:

BREAKING: Ola and Chris volunteer to leave Big Brother Stargame

The news is shocking and viewers of the Big Brother reality show are still trying to understand why this year’s Nigerian representatives in the Big Brother Stargame Ola and Chris are leaving the house.
A few minutes ago the Nigerian duo voluntarily decided to leave the game after Ola complained about his health to Biggie in the diary room.
Ola says he suffers from ‘high blood pressure issues’ and that he did not think his medication was working well for him.
‘Health is wealth’, Ola said. ‘Yes, this is a game. However, we can’t play with our lives’, a sad looking Chris added. Chris is willing to leave the house to save Ola’s health.
Biggie has instructed Ola and Chris to put their bags in the store room for now. As at the time of this report, the other housemates in the Downville house are yet to know about this new development.
Big Brother will miss both of you, you both have been great contestants‘, Biggie said.
Fans are already reacting on social network Twitter, express their shock and sadness;
#BigBroAfrica ladies are shedding tears beause Ola and Chris are leaving #StarGame shame man *sad*’, a comment read. ‘So Ola and Chris are leaving? Hmmm 9ja chances of winning is getting slimmer o’, another comment read
Nigeria’s chance of winning the seventh edition of the BBA reality show and $300,000 now lies on the shoulders of celebrityhousemate Goldie.
Don Jazzy releases The Mavins ‘Solar Plexus’ album ft. Wande Coal, Dr. SID, D’Prince and Tiwa Savage

A day after announcing his new record label, Don Jazzy has released a compilation album today as promised. And, the producer is offering every single song for free download.
Titled ‘Solar Plexus‘ which  in general context means ‘a blow to the stomach’ or as they say ‘getting the wind knocked out of you‘, the 12-tracker comprises of individual songs from ‘The Mavins‘ – Wande Coal, D’Prince, Tiwa Savage and Dr SID with additional vocal back-ups from Don Jazzy himself.
Other than the intro where all acts feature on the same song, the album sees each act explore their style individually; sort of a pushing their separate brands which in my opinion defeats the purpose of a compilation album unlike the Mo’ Hits All Stars – Curriculum Vitae album where they sold the Mo’Hits chemistry in 2007.
While the ‘Don Jazzy bred’ acts Wande Coal, Dr SID and D’Prince have three songs each to themselves, Tiwa Savage (the surprise signing) disappointingly has only a song to her credit.
Understandably, maybe, because the entire project was put together in a rush., and Tiwa’s signing only just concluded.
Solar Plexus is a mixture of highs and lows as the acts perform brilliantly on one song only to fall short on the other. The production also doesn’t sound new as compared to past efforts. The album will however produce some club hits that will last for a while.

D’banj to create new record label

Nigerian entertainer D’banj has revealed his plans to create a new label all his own. In an interview he gave during a recent visit to Ghana, the “Oliver Twist” singer, who recently split from his original Mo’Hits crew, announced that he is on the cusp of a new movement that will change Africa’s music industry.
“My new record label is being structured,” D’banj said and while he couldn’t dish out too many details of his upcoming label, he says “what I have right now and I can tell you is that my new record label has worldwide distribution with Universal Music Group”.
The record label, which D’Banj describes as “a movement”, will help bring some much needed structure to the way music is distributed in Nigeria and in Africa.
While Nigerian artist can carve out a pretty lavish lifestyle on proceeds from live performances, endorsements and concerts, they make little from actual music or CD sales as the industry is plagued with piracy and illegal internet download.
D’banj is confident that his new music label will change that.
“We are bringing Def Jam Universal Music Group to Africa, so that we have a proper structure – so that the way they do it over there, is the way we’ll do it over here,” he said.
The top Nigerian entertainer who made news when he signed with American rapper, Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music record label last year, says he is hoping to create a creative atmosphere in Africa where upcoming artists would not need to fly out of the country to get signed by foreign labels.

Funke Akindele and fiancé Kenny Almaroof
10 days to her surprise engagement ceremony, Nollywood actress Funke ‘Jenifa’ Akindele has revealed the identity of her fiancée.
On Saturday, May 26, 2012 Funke Akindele will be traditionally ‘tying the knot’ with Kenny Almaroof, a Lagos socialite and politician.
In March NET reported the news of Funke and a then unknown Kenny attending the weekly Industry Nite event. We are told Kenny Almaroof, a moslem, is already married with kids.
Akin Tofowohan-led Akin and Shuga band will thrill guests at the wedding proper will take place sometime in September.
Tiger Woods’ ex-wife single again
Elin Nordegren, golf legend Tiger Woods‘ ex-wife, has reportedly ended her relationship with businessman, Jamie Dingman.
According to People Magazine, Elin’s friend confirmed the split, saying she wasn’t ready for a serious relationship with the businessman.
She says Jamie’s a great guy and they’re still friends but I think it was just too early after the divorce for her to get serious with anyone‘, the source said.
Nordegren and Dindman reportedly started dating in January 2011 after meeting in Florida, where she is currently a part-time student pursuing a Degree in Psychology.
Woods and Nordegren divorced in August 2010 after Wood’s extramarital affairs became public, with Elin receiving a divorce settlement worth $100 million.
I can never replace D’banj’ – Tiwa Savage
We weren’t joking when we called her the hottest female act in the country.
Months later Tiwa Savage is still keeping the fire burning.
With a debut album ready to hit stores, a new signing to Don Jazzy’s MAVIN Records, plus an endorsement deal with Pepsi,  no other female act right now comes close to this lady’s status.
Check out her interview with popular OAP Toolz on ‘The Juice‘ as she talks about how she hooked up with Don Jazzy, D’banj’s impact in music, her forthcoming debut LP and more..

D’banj congratulates Don Jazzy on new record label
In a tweet on Monday, former partner in the Mo’hits squad,  D’banj, sent a congratulatory message to his former partner Michael Collins, popularly known as Don Jazzy on the launch of his new record label “Congrats to my brother and the best producer in Africa Don jazzy on the launch of his new Record Label, MAVIN RECORDS. Wish u all the best.” – Dbanj. In return Don Jazzy replied “Thanks Bro. God Bless you“, and also added “After Solar Plexus Tomorrow. Tweeps next stop is #Olivertwist UK Release May 14th. Your support is needed always. RepNaija, RepAfrica. Oshee” Solar Plexus is set to be released today May 8th.   So far, the tweet has generated a lot of comments from fans, most of which rally around the fact that, D’banj is trying to salvage the badly damaged relationship between him and his ex-boss.
You will recall that D’Banj and Don Jazzy owned the Mo Hits record label but few months back, both men split ways in what many regard as, perhaps, the worst split in Nigerian music industry.
It all started when Don Jazzy moved out of the mansion both stars shared for years in Lekki peninsula, Lagos, apparently frustrated with D’banj’s “lifestyle, tantrums and unmanageable ego” while  D’banj backed out because he also felt Don Jazzy is spending more time advancing the careers of other artistes in the label and was not “concentrating enough” on D’banj’s forth coming album which was due for release some time this year.  The straw that broke the camel’s back was an interview remarks allegedly made by D’Banj to US based Ebony magazine, in which he claimed ownership to Mo Hits, referring to Don Jazzy as “my artiste.”
Both stars followed their split with insults hauled at each other, driven by D’Banj who later claimed his Twitter and Facebook pages were hacked and used for the malicious insults.
On monday, however, both artiste appeared to be mending their fences as D’Banj tweeted Don Jazzy, congratulating him for new record label, Mavin Records which is set for launch.

Tuesday 8 May 2012

If you are still in doubt for any reason known to you, that Mo’hits still exists or that Don Jazzy and D’banj will soon kiss and make up, this should wake you up. Ace producer Don Jazzy the former CEO Mo’hits records has finaly floated his own label, MAVIN Records.
We had thought it would take a while since he had not removed Mo’Hits from his profile on Twitter, and as D’banj claimed that he had signed over Mo’Hits to Don Jazzy. But we guess this had been in the works for a while now. Everyone formerly on Mo’Hits label save for D’banj and his brother K-Swicth are now on MAVIN Records. News however is that sexy singer, Tiwa Savage has also joined the new label making her the only female artiste on the label.
A compilation album titled Solar Plexus, produced by Don Jazzy and featuring Wande Coal, Dr Sid, D’Prince and Tiwa Savage is said to be released tomorrow May 8th. As expected Donjazzy tweeted the news to his fans.

Rashidi Yekini dies at 48

Former African Footballer of the Year, Rashidi Yekini died Friday in Iraa, officials and family members announced.
Kwara State sports commissioner, Anthony Kayode Towoju, confirmed the passing away on Friday evening  5th may 20112  one of Africa’s most lethal strikers.
Family members said he died of a strange ailment and he is to be buried Saturday in his hometown of Offa according to Muslim rites.
MTNFootball.com reported that Yekini’s goals helped Nigeria to qualify for its first-ever World Cup in 1994 and he was rewarded with the prestigious African Footballer of the Year award in 1993.
He featured for Portuguese club Vitoria Setubal and also had a brief stint at Sporting Gijon in Spain and Greek side Olympiacos.
The 48-year-old Yekini has lived a reclusive life since he quit football around 2005, when he returned to star in the Nigerian league.
He has aggressively shunned the media limelight and has severally turned down offers to be part of the country’s football in some other capacities.
He rejected a chance to act as a Nigerian football ambassador to the 2010 World Cup and eventually his place was taken up by ex-international goalkeeper Ike Shorunmu.
Last month, former international skipper, Segun odegbemi, who played alongside Yekini at the famous Shooting Stars of Ibadan, dismissed concerns over the player’s well being.
Odegbami even promised in his weekly syndicated newspaper column that the striker will soon return to football to promote youth football after a lengthy private chat with him.
MTNFootball.com has specially gathered that his aged mother and second wife came to Ibadan two weeks ago to take Nigeria’s most prolific international striker to Offa after neighbours noticed he was “behaving funny”.
A visit to his house in Oni and Son, around Ring Road, Ibadan, showed that there is no one living there as the gate is firmly locked while the premises housing the four white flats is unkempt with overgrown grasses.
There were no cars in the compound and the tenants who lived in the other flats have since been evicted by their famous landlord.

Samuel L. Jackson slams film critic over "Avengers"

click: http://b1magazine.blogspot.com
LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) - Samuel L. Jackson is sick of all these critics trashing his movie.
Jackson, who plays S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nick Fury in the upcoming superhero epic "The Avengers," virtually eviscerated New York Times critic A. O. Scott on Twitter on Thursday, after Scott wrote a less-than-glowing review of "The Avengers."
In his Twit-fit, Jackson suggested that Scott should find a new profession, writing, "#Avengers fans, NY Times critic AO Scott needs a new job! Let's help him find one! One he can ACTUALLY do!"
While Scott didn't outright pan the film in his review, which was published Thursday, he did throw a few jabs at the men-in-tights extravaganza, calling it "a snappy little dialogue comedy dressed up as something else, that something else being a giant A.T.M. for Marvel and its new studio overlords, the Walt Disney Company."
Oh, and he added that the film suffers from a "grinding, hectic emptiness" and "bloated cynicism."
Jackson's reaction, as seems to happen so often in the Twitterverse, prompted a reaction of its own. Movie website The Film Nest tweeted, "Disappointed to hear @SamuelLJackson respond irrationally to negative review of #Avengers. People aren't entitled to their own opinion?"
Naturally, the actor couldn't let that stand and fired back, "That is My Opinion! @TheFilmNest & what's irrational about it? They aren't going to fire his jaundiced ass & You & I Know It!"
Jackson's attack on Scott sparked a flood of support for the scribe from his journalistic colleagues, who circled the wagons in his defense.
"@AOScott His call for you to lose your job only supports your point about 'glowering authoritarianism' in pop culture," New Yorker music critic Alex Ross wrote, referencing a line from the review. "Well said!"
New York magazine TV columnist Matthew Seitz chimed in, "The latent fascism of fanboy culture manifests itself through Samuel L. Jackson. "A few negative reviews in hundreds? Get 'em, boys!"
Meanwhile, Mike Ryan, senior writer for HuffPo Entertainment, cracked, "I'm just going to guess that Jackson has never read your positive 'Revenge of the Sith' review."
In a bit of interesting timing, Jackson was the subject of a lengthy, glowing profile in NYT Magazine over the weekend. During the profile, Jackson sought to distance himself from other celebrities who've become too pampered to endure everyday experiences.
"I walk the streets, take the train, it's real simple," Jackson professed. "Some actors create their own mythology -- 'Oh, I'm so famous I can't go places, because I created this mythology that I'm so famous I can't go places.' "
Enduring the opinions of film critics, apparently, is another matter.
Maybe Jackson should just sic The Hulk on Scott?
"The Avengers" opens on Friday.

Star actor, Chidi Mokeme, got married yesterday (April 28) at a ceremony, which took place at Our Saviour’s Church, Onikan, Lagos. His wife, Jean, is a medical doctor, based in Baltimore, USA. The wedding was followed by a lavish reception at the MUSON Centre in Lagos, which was attended by top Nollywood stars.https://www.b1magazine.blogspot.com/
Michael Jackson is dancing again, on Pepsi cans.

The soft drink maker and the estate for the late pop star on Thursday unveiled plans to put the singer's silhouette on one billion soft drink cans in a global pop culture ad campaign.

The l...ate King of Pop, who pitched Pepsi in 1980s commercials as "the choice of a new generation", will appear in some of his iconic dance poses for the promotion, which will also coincide with the 25th anniversary of the singer's "Bad" album.

The limited edition Pepsi cans will go on sale first in China, starting on Saturday, and then in the United States later this month. They will be rolled out in Asia, South America and Europe later in 2012.

Fans of the singer, who died in June 2009, will also be able to enter contests for tickets to Cirque du Soleil's show "Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour."

Pepsi, Jackson's estate, and his Sony Music record company are also teaming up to share new mixes of music from the "Bad" album as part of the campaign.

"We are thrilled to bring Michael and Pepsi back together, as they were in 1988, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the 'Bad' album and tour and to put Michael on one billion Pepsi cans," John Branca and John McClain, the executors of Jackson's estate, said in a statement.

The Jackson cans are part of Pepsi's new "Live for Now" campaign, which seeks to harness pop culture to boost sales. Pepsi-Cola is currently No.3 in the United States, behind Coca-Cola and Diet Coke in a declining market for carbonated drinks.

Pepsi said earlier this week that rapper Nicki Minaj would feature in a commercial as part of the campaign.

Jackson has been associated with Pepsi since 1983 when he appeared alongside his Jackson 5 brothers in his first Pepsi campaign.

But the memories are not all good. Jackson's hair famously caught fire while filming a Pepsi commercial in 1984 in Los Angeles, scorching his scalp. The incident was later blamed for triggering Jackson's addiction to painkillers that caused him to enter rehab in 1993.

Jackson, 50, died in Los Angeles from an overdose of the anesthetic propofol and sedatives. His personal doctor is serving a four-year jail sentence in Los Angeles for involuntary manslaughter.http://b1magazine.blogspot.com/

Titanic to be rebuild

An Australian billionaire announced plans on Monday to build an “unsinkable” version of the Titanic, 100 years after the original sank after hitting an iceberg. Titanic II is expe...cted to make its maiden voyage from England to North America, the old Titanic route, in late 2016. “It is going to be designed so it won’t sink,” mining and tourism tycoon Clive Palmer told reporters. “It will be designed as a modern ship with all the technology to ensure that doesn’t happen.” The original Titanic, the largest liner in world when it was launched and dubbed “virtually unsinkable” at the time, sank after hitting an iceberg on April 15, 1912, killing 1,517 passengers and crew. Palmer said his new shipping company, Blue Star Line Pty Ltd, had signed a memorandum of understanding with the Chinese state-owned company CSC Jinling Shipyard to build Titanic II. The original ship was operated by the White Star Line. The design work had started for the new Titanic, which will have the same dimension as its old version with 840 rooms and nine decks.
