Delta State: Veteran Actor RMD In N50m Embezzlement Saga

Veteran actor Richard Mofe-Damijo is making the headlines again and it’s not because of his appearance of in another high profile soap.
His integrity as the Delta State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism is seriously being questioned as he has been accused of looting N50 million belonging to the ministry.
RMD is accused of conniving with the General Manager of Delta state’s Tourism Board, Miss Philo Nkem Ajufo while he attempted to keep the account’s treasury open until thinking off holding back an amount of money that has been available since the ‘Delta Expo 2007’.
There is no proof but there was a chain of irregular activities under subsequent administrations.  However, it was learnt that the state government could not approve the said amount that same year for some reasons.
The source said the funds were eventually approved and released to the ministry of tourism under the leadership of Damijo in May, 2012.
‘As soon as the money arrived, the commissioner said that the ministry could no longer hold the event since six years had elapsed’, a source said
‘The Honourable Commissioners also argued that Deltans would have forgotten about the event – and therefore the money should not be used for the purpose it was released’, the source added.
Some documents obtained by newsmen from the Delta State Ministry of Finance reportedly show that the N50 million must be spent on the event for which the Culture Ministry applied for it.
The warrant, which was signed by one P.O. Evuojapha on behalf of the Commissioner of Finance indicates that N35 million of the funds was meant for the Tourism Board.
Insiders however said that Damijo allegedly conspired to issue a cheque of N35m in the name of the General Manager of the state’s Tourism Board, Ms. Ajufo who allegedly deposited the sum into her First Bank private account number 3006131619.
‘Mrs. Ajufo and RMD then shared the money’, our sources alleges; insisting Ms. Ajufo allegedly used her share of the looted funds to start off a twin duplex building located at No.6 Dunkwu Crescent, Asaba in June, 2012.
The twin complex we gathered is behind Junior Staff quarters and opposite one of the branches of Redeemed Christian Church (RCCG) in the state.
The source further said that tourism board’s members had denied receiving any of the embezzled funds.
‘She accused Mr. Mofe Damijo of carting away the whole sum of N50 million even when her account was used to commit the fraud’.
The actor-turned-politician denies all the allegations levelled against him and maintains he’s a silent mouth throughout the whole drama.

Tonto Dike Crazily In Love With Terry G

A few months back when the thespian, Tonto Dikeh came out with her maiden musical effort, quite a lot of her fans frowned at that effort.

When I was asked to review Tonto's debut singles, I did not join people to abuse it, I only criticized the producer who was supposed to have corrected her and apply some touches of aesthetic and professionalism into the songs.

Today, despite all the rumbles, vibes and jives the song generated, Tonto, musically, is in hot romance with Terry G as she has just been featured in his new single entitled 'Crazically Fit' produced by Terry G himself.

No doubt, Tonto's delivery in this song will definitely keep her critics at bay.

This is another wonder for the street that you need to listen to.

Styl Plus moves on as Tunde exits

After working for nine years as an R&B group – STYL Plus will be saying goodbye to one of its founder members Tunde Akinsanmi. Over the weekend, the news of Tunde leaving to pursue a solo career hit the ‘blogosphere’. The group has now told b1mag that Tunde is leaving, but STYL Plus is not ‘breaking up’.
We owe it to our fans to clear the air on this matter. In the process of working towards a collective vision, in this vein, Tunde Akinsanmi has decided to pursue a solo career and delve into other ventures that are not Styl-Plus’s priority at the moment‘, a rep for the group and One Management said in a statement.
The statement says the group’s musical projects will go on as usual: Shifi and Zeal say they’ll be releasing a new single titl
ed ‘Tonight’ (Ale-Oni) in the coming weeks. They are also warming up to release new singles produced by the likes of Wizboyy, TK and Landlord
We thank all the fans and media whose unwavering support we have enjoyed so far and continue to enjoy‘, they added.
STYL Plus launched into the mainstream back in 2003 but their musical journey started way long before then; the group was originally formed in the ’90s by Shifi Emoefe, Tunde Akinsanmi, Yemi Akinwonmi, and Lanre Faneyi giving birth to the initial name STYL.
In 1999, Faneyi passed away. A young singer Zeal Onyecheme replaced him; rebranding the group’s name to STYL Plus. Three years later Akinwonmi left.
In 2003, the group released their first set of singles – ‘Olufunmi’ and ‘Runaway’ which remain evergreen. In 2006, they released their first studio album ‘Expressions‘, which included the hits – ‘Imagine that‘, ‘Always on my mind‘, ‘Drive me crazy‘, and ‘Iya Basira‘.
Going on a small hiatus, they returned in 2008 with the club hit ‘Four years’ off their ‘Back and Better‘ album.

TUNDE LEAVES STYL-PLUS

Unable to reclaim the glory of their good days, Tunde of Styl-Plus has left the group. The group which comprised of Tunde, Shiffi and Zeal set female hearts a-melting with their hit track ‘Olufunmi‘. That album was a massive success but the same cannot be said about the subsequent album they released. Since then, their singles have been greeted with a less than lukewarm attitude.

Tired of the downward slide, Tunde has decided to leave the group and go solo. Hence forth, he would be known as NativeBoy. Word reaching us is that he has recorded a few single that would soon be released. He has also started a new record label by the name of B.A.T Records. Will Tunde be able to reclaim the former glory that former group Styl-Plus seeks so desperately? That remains to be seen.
