Davido Acquires New House in Lekki for N140 Million

 

Nigerian pop star Davido, has just acquired a property in Lekki Phase 1. The report also has it that the value of the mansion is around N140m – the price the property was on the market for.
Although it has not been confirmed if he paid the advertised amount, but the
Dami Duro crooner, did not waste time with negotiations, as the deal to buy the house, was sealed between yesterday and today. The newly acquired property, is close to where his father also has a house in Lekki.
The 20-year-old Davido joins the league of artistes like Iyanya, Don Jazzy, etc, who own apartments in the highbrow area of Lagos.

Switching from R&B to main stream music seems to be one of the best decisions that ‘Kukere‘ singer Iyanya has made. The singer recently purchased a ‘tear- rubber’ Range Rover vehicle; joining the list of range owning celebrities. Its good to know that Nigerian musicians are making good money. Only this morning we got news that ‘Dami Duro‘ singer Davido had allegedly acquired property in Lekki valued at N140 million naira and Iyanya follows closely with his range valued at 12 million naira.

Iyanya sang the hit single ‘Kukere’ and has followed it up with ‘Your Waist‘. He won the first edition of MTN’s Project Fame in 2008.

Terry G, Waconzy get rid of their dreadlocks

 

It’s the ‘Chop your dreads off’ season in the Nigerian entertainment industry and a few of our beloved entertainers are keeping with the trend. Pop singers Terry G and Waconzy recently shared new photos of themselves spotting a new look – they’ve both shaved their locks off!
Waconzy calls his new look ‘Waconzy 2.0‘; he went an extra mile by adding a blonde tinge to his hair. Mr Ginjah on the other opted for a very low Mo’Hawk look.
It started with Faze last year who went for a more ‘serene’ look. He was followed by Timaya. The most recent to follow the trend is comedian Basketmouth although he didn’t go for a complete shave-off.
So why are our dreaded stars chopping their locks off? Some would point out that it might have to do with the artiste’s way of re-branding. ‘New album on the way means – new image, new look, something to talk about’, a publicist tells us.

Emeka Ike Disrupts AGN Election In Lagos

Nollywood actor, Emeka Ike today, Thursday, September 27 disrupted the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) held in Lagos.

He came in about 1:40pm to arrest the vice chairman of the BOT of the guild, Emma Ogugua with some men of the police force.

Emma was whisked away to Zone 2 Headquarters of the police force where we learnt he met with the AIG in charge of the zone. He was accompanied by Steve Eboh, who is contesting in the election for the presidency.

Emma later came back to the secretariat some minutes past 5pm. Though this did not stop the election, but it has delayed the announcement of the election results.

Emeka reportedly came claiming it was illegal for the guild to conduct an election. There are feelers that Ibinabo is leading but this has not been officially announced.

Meanwhile, Emeka Ike has denied coming to the election venue to arrest Emma. He said he was just passing by while the election was going on.

Speaking with news men , Emma showed us evidence that he was truly arrest and claimed that Emeka told the police the he (Emma) threatened his life.

Popular singer, David Adeleke, aka Davido, allegedly assaulted a taxi driver in Lagos around August but his publicist, Valerie Obaeze, claimed via an e-mail that the singer knew nothing about the incident. But in a fresh twist to the saga, Hashiru Azeez, the employer of the taxi driver, whose name is Femi Ajibola, said Davido said that the taxi driver was assaulted by his cousins. Azeez confirmed that he gave a Toyota Corolla to Ajibola on hire purchase “I gave it out to him on hire purchase. When Ajibola initially told me about this matter, I did not believe him. Later, I went to Beni’s Apartment in company with Sgt. Nuru Umar, who is the Investigating Police Officer, and we found out that he was right. “We went to the DPO and he called Davido’s father after I took time to explain who the boy was,” Azeez said. Immediately after the story was published, the young woman who was conveyed in the cab to see Davido allegedly threatened Ajibola at the taxi park where he operates. “I got a call from Ajibola that Susan allgedly went to the park to threaten him. She said that if he was claiming that he lost N100,000 during the incident with Davido, she would pay the money. Then she asked if the cab driver had forgotten that she lost her cell-phone, which was valued at N175,000. “She said that Ajibola would have to produce her phone because he was the one that took them to the hotel in his cab. She added that she would deal with him,” he said. The car dealer said he had advised his employee to report the matter at the nearest police station. However, since the case had initially been reported at the Bar Beach Police Station, Ajibola was directed to go and lodge his complaint there. Azeez said, “Ajibola went to Maroko Police Station, but he was directed to the Bar Beach Police Station because he had already reported the case there.” Azeez said that a petition had been written on his behalf to the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2 about the incident. He stated that somehow, the Adelekes got wind of this and contacted him for a meeting. “A lawyer, Malachy Ukwamadu, wrote a petition on our behalf to the AIG Zone 2.We had written the petition even before the publication. Somehow, the Adeleke family got to know that we had written a petition and they got someone to ask me to come with Ajibola to the Bar Beach Police Station. They said they would bring Davido to the station. The boy had surrendered himself and the police were ready to prosecute him. It was hard to believe, but I was optimistic,” the car dealer said. Azeez said he was advised not to honour the invitation by a policeman who warned that the case might be tilted to the advantage of Davido. “The policeman warned that there was an ulterior motive behind the invitation. He said the moment that Ajibola stepped into the Bar Beach Police Station, the case would change and turn against him. “This prompted us to invite a lawyer to go to the station instead of Ajibola. Ukwamadu was out of town. So, we invited Bar. Ademola Olamide. While we waited for them to bring Davido, the IPO told the lawyer that they wanted to negotiate. “Olamide said that he thought they wanted to bring in Davido and why was it that it was the police that wanted to negotiate. Should they not be neutral?” Azeez said. The lawyer insisted he would not talk to the police unless they brought Davido to the station. The IPO then phoned somebody who spoke with Olamide and agreed to meet him. When meeting took place on Aug. 12, the lawyer informed Azeez that the picture painted by Davido was different from what he had learnt from the complainant. Azeez said, “I was asked to come over to explain. Fortunately, we had our witness. While the counsel was disputing what we said, we called in the witness. He is a driver and he drove along with Ajibola; he had some guys in his vehicle and I learnt that those girls brought those guys. “When we brought in our witness, they calmed down. Davido then said that he was not the one that assaulted Ajibola. He said that the guys we were claiming were his bodyguards were actually his cousins. He said that it was Bayo, one of his cousins, who beat up Ajibola.” Suspecting a foul play somewhere, Azeez asked what business Bayo had with Susan since she was Davido’s girlfriend. “We told him that from his conversation, Susan was his girlfriend and why would Bayo beat up Susan? At a point, they said that they would like to compensate Ajibola and that they wanted to know how much Ajibola made in a day. “They said that they would pay two weeks’ earnings. I was not there when they were discussing the money issue. I told my lawyer that there was no basis for compensation since he denied assaulting Ajibola. I said he should produce those who beat up Ajibola, that the police should do their job and we would know what step to take from there,” he said. Azeez told CRIME DIGEST that Ajibola’s car keys had not been returned to him. He said that an agency that fights for the cause of the less privileged had contacted him and was ready to help out in the matter. “The agency champions the cause of the less privileged and they are willing to assist us in seeking justice. Davido claims he was not the one that assaulted the driver; but how did he get hold of the car keys before handing it to his father and later, the DPO? “Why would he take someone’s car keys and keep them? Up till now, nobody has confirmed if Davido has written any statement regarding this case. We still believe that he is above the law until he comes out to say his own part of the story.  If at all we agree to negotiate with him, he should accept that he was wrong to have assaulted a man that is 16 years older than him and apologise for his behaviour. Then we will know what to do from there,” he said. When CRIME DIGEST contacted Susan on the phone, a male voice answered the call, claiming it was a wrong number. However, Obaeze, Davido’s publicist, maintained that her client knew nothing about the incident. In an e-mail to CRIME DIGEST, the publicist wrote, “Thanks for your enquiry and effort to get our own side of the story, but our previous statement (still) stands. Davido was neither aware of nor involved in any incident involving the assault of a taxi driver or the illegal seizure of his keys. He does not condone violence in any form and will not be commenting further on this matter.”  The Police Public Relations Officer, Zone 2 Police Command, Femi Balogun, confirmed that the case was being handled by his command. Mr Balogun said the AIG had ordered that Davido should be brought before him with the Toyota Corolla used as taxi. He said they did not know where Davido is and he would be arrested once they have information on his whereabouts.

 The United States ambassador to Libya, J. Christopher Stevens, was killed in a rocket attack on the American Consulate in the city of Benghazi on Tuesday, a contractor working at the mission said Wednesday after seeing Stevens' body.
Three American security staff were also killed, said the contractor, who asked not to be named for security reasons.
He said he saw all four bodies on the street Wednesday morning. The bodies are now in the Central Hospital in Benghazi, he said.
Libyan Deputy Prime Minister Mustafa Abushagur appeared to confirm that the envoy had been killed, saying that Stevens was "a friend of Libya, and we are shocked at the the attacks on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi."

"I condemn these barbaric acts in the strongest possible terms. This is an attack on America, Libya and free people everywhere," Abushagur said on Twitter.
The contractor in Benghazi said he could hear rocket-propelled grenade attacks last night.
Libyans were also killed, the contractor said, saying the victims were shot on the spot.
The deaths came as protesters attacked U.S. diplomatic compounds in Libya and Egypt on Tuesday, angry about an online film considered offensive to Islam.
The United States has not confirmed the deaths.
Stevens was the American envoy to the Libyan rebel movement that overthrew dictator Moammar Gadhafi last year, based in the rebel capital of Benghazi.
A speaker of Arabic and French, he was among the first American diplomats sent to Libya in 2007 when the United States resumed ties with the Gadhafi regime.
The last time an American ambassador was killed by terrorists was in 1979, when the envoy to Afghanistan, Adolph Dubs, was kidnapped and killed during an attempt to rescue him, according to State Department records.

Wunmi Adebayo Another Student Shot Dead

 

A female student of Tai Solarin University of Education. According to classmates and friends of the slain student , Wunmi Adebayo was shot dead last night at a male friend's house at Golden Estate in Ijebu Ode, Ogun state.

The 200level student was visiting the friend when they were attacked by armed robbers who robbed them and shot her in the face because she fought them off when they tried to rape her.

Her corpse has been deposited at the mortuary. Wunmi was the first child of her parents and friends say she was very jovial, friendly and kind hearted. Her candlelight procession will hold tomorrow at skyfield in Lagos.

May D taking P Square to Court

 

There are new reports that embattled singer, May D may be seeking redress in a court of law over what he has described as an alleged breach of contract by Square Records. In a statement signed by Jude Okoye for Square Records, the label parted ways with May D over irreconcilaible differences.

When the singer was contacted, he was unaware of the termination of his contract as he read it on blogs and pages of newspapers.

This is not the first time Dapo Oyebanjo popularly known as D'Banj is rumoured to be in sizzling romance with a high class lady and this may not be the last. In time past, the Kokomaster, as he is also fondly called, had been romantically linked with superstar Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji.

Now, there is a romance tale trailing D'Banj with Adama Indimi, who is the younger sister of IBB's son's first wife, Muhammed Babangida, Rahama Indimi. She is the daughter of Maiduguri based multi-millionaire, Alhaji Mohammed Indimi. Adama is a student of
Lynn University, Florida, USA.

It is reported that a series of tweeted started this speculations. This has made some people ask if D'Banj has finally dropped Genevieve for Adama.

On August 13, 2012, Dbanj tweeted, "On my way to Club Icon with Naeto C and the crew! Tonight, we are drinking to celebrate my baby @Presido_Adama (Adama). Happy birthday love!

This was later followed by a tweet on August 27, 2012 when Dbanj performed at a London concert London which read, "You make me do happy." She now posted some pictures of herself then of D'Banj's dancers backstage. Soon after, she posted a picture of the two of them together.

J Martins To Feature American Rapper Pitbull In New Song!

Award winning producer and Hip-life artiste J Martins is set to do it again, and this time he is hooking up with none other than Pitbull, the Latino American rapper who is known for his booty shaking music.
J Martins has collaborated with a good number of foreign artistes, his most popular being the “Jupa Remix” on which he featured the internationally acclaimed Congolese artiste, Fally Pupa. Pitbull has feature on songs with artiste such as JLo and Neyo.
We can’t but wonder what to expect from a collabo of this nature, but trust J Martins to always deliver world class music. We shall however keep you informed.

Julius  Agwu Stranded In The US

Reports reaching us say that veteran comedian, Julius Agwu is stranded in the US! Well we wonder how possible this is, since its not like he can’t afford a flight or anything of the sort.
The gist however is that, due to the closure of Air Nigeria by owner, business mogul Jimoh Ibrahim, Julius Agwu who is said to be returning home after his show in Houston was shocked to find out that the airline that brought him all the way is now history.
According to Julius Agwu, he flew with Air Nigeria from Nigeria to London for his ‘Crack Ya Ribs‘ show which was held on August 26, 2012 at the plush Lighthouse Hall, Camberwell but cannot return to Nigeria now because the airline has abruptly shut down services.
Jimoh Ibrahim, had on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 announced a one-year suspension of all activities of the airline and terminated the employment of all its staff, sparing only 50.
